Am I eligible for a Hope After Project?
The only requirement for receiving a Hope After Project is that someone you love has died. That doesn’t mean Hope After Project’s program is right for everyone. We recommend that you are at least one year out from your loss before receiving your project. The grieving process is different for everyone so there is no limit on how many years away from your loss you are. Some people don’t begin to grieve for a loved one for 2, 5 or even 10 years after their initial loss.
Participating in a Hope After Project in memory of your loved can help you find hope, promote healing and alleviate feelings of isolation. However Hope After Project’s program is not a substitute for individual grief counseling, therapy or grief support groups.
Start thinking about how you want your loved one to remembered. Did they love animals, have a charity they volunteered for or a cause they were passionate about? The qualities that defined your loved one are often the same things that help determine where your Hope After Project should take place.

How do I decide what type of Project to do?
Every Hope After Project is funded through fundraising. Many of our recipients fundraise in the same way they would if they were participating in a memorial 5k. We help set up fundraising pages for all of our recipients.
Hope After Project is a fiscally sponsored 501 c3 and runs on donations. If you would like to make a donation to your Hope After Project or to a future project you can by visiting our website
How much does it cost?
What you can expect as a volunteer at a Hope After Project?
A full, hands on, energetic day.
An experience talking about grief that is non-threatening and community oriented.
Connecting with new people and like minded individuals who are interested in volunteering and making the world a better place.
Developing your empathy. Research shows that those who give are happier, more empathetic people. Supporting someone else on their grief journey, while volunteering for a great cause, can be a life altering event.
Are you eligible?
At Hope After Project we are always looking for new organizations to partner with. We bring dedicated and energetic volunteers to all of our events. Most Hope After Projects will include 15-35 volunteers.
How are we different from other volunteer groups?
We show up! No need to worry about flaky volunteers. Our volunteers are there to honor someone who has died and they take that commitment very seriously. Since we film many of our Hope After Projects we share that footage with our partner organizations and hope it helps them spread awareness about their specific causes.

Who will be at my event?
Some recipients choose to only invite their immediate family and close friends. Other recipients open their event to the community. In the case of an open event we will invite our network of volunteers to come out and support your event.
Each Hope After Project should have a facilitator. We are happy to provide bereavement facilitator services or you can pick someone you know to lead the day. Don't worry, we'll give them all the tools they need!
Anyone who wants to support or collaborate with others who have already initiated their Hope After Project.
Most Hope After Projects are open events and we welcome anyone to come out and volunteer. You do not need to have known the person we're honoring to participate!
